My thoughts on Rev. Greg

Although I still feel new at this Church stuff, I must say I have appreciated Rev. Greg being the minister here (albeit interim).  I have been inspired by many of his sermons and inspired as he’s worked with our members up front in worship services - Mother’s Day last year with Elizabeth Hutchins comes to mind. (I was sorry I hadn’t brought my son along!).

His Martin Luther King’s Strange Fruit, really touched me, and I was proud that our Social Justice Council/LFDC folks played a part up front and posting or wearing Black Lives Matter and other signs.

He seemed to step in and start helping to move things around that needed some work.  We were easily able to glide through getting approval for our Confronting Racism Project.  I felt his support, and his push for us to do more.  And, with his encouragement and support, we did!!

He listened, and he took notice.  He saw who showed up and acknowledged me, for example, and that was appreciated.  I lived in a cohousing community in Massachusetts before I came here for the grandchildren.  I feel that I’m becoming a part of this church, I’m growing into a new and yearned for community, and it’s one where I get to do the Social Justice work I feel called to do.  I am thankful for all the support he’s brought to Social Justice!

I wish him the best as he looks to his own future.
